As much as I want to work this out better with the seller I have left the case opened. I took clear photos & sent them a message informing them of it. It was hours later I noticed the label underneath theirs. They agreed to a return but made clear if I sent back what I got they would try to prosecute me. I informed them in response to the claim that I received a book & that if they insisted on filing fraud claims I would respond by doing the same. The seller responded with nasty threatening messages. I made NO claims of them trying to defraud me. At the time I had assumed they may have swapped labels on outgoing packages. I opened the claim, stating what i received with a photo of the box, label clearly visible & the item within. Let us know how this turns out clarify in full. Hopefully they shipped Priority which is insured up to $100. Since you already said your carrier confirmed package condition when delivered, that should support any claim the seller files. Let them know you would like them to process a refund, and if they want you to return that package you will, or if they prefer to refund without requiring a return then you're 100% willing to cooperate and turn the package over to USPS for any insurance claim they may file. I would (calmly and politely) explain to the seller what happened. Sometimes things happen at sorting facilities and packages aren't properly sorted before continuing on their journey. I've gotten packages exactly as you described - with the label for my package stuck on someone else's package. This I'm uncertain how to proceed since while I don't want to lose $100, I don't feel the seller should suffer for a USPS mistake.īefore reading through the thread and seeing this reply, I was going to ask if anything seemed odd about the label. So I've messaged the seller with photos of this, but the return case I filed is still open for now. This appears to be a case of USPS mishandling packages- their label was torn off their box & affixed to a different package. Their label was a bit haphazardly taped to the box, underneath was a media mail label dated 2/27.
